FINAL RESULTS

The final Order of Merit event of 2024 saw a record 208 different players competing across 11 games and the 'cut-off' handicap for Division 2 was 19.2, with anyone lower being in the Division 1 category. A total of 52 players managed to complete the full 4 qualifying games with 26 once again managing to hit the maximum 6 game tally & 10 managing 5 games.

 

Division 1:

The Division 1 title was a close fought event with only 4 points between 1st & 4th. We will never know if Mick Lynch would have managed to imp-rove his score by the necessary 1 point, had he played his 6th qualifying game because he didn't and was stranded in 2nd place on 145 points. Colin Walters took 3rd place (on countback from Brian Platt) with 144 points. Congratulations go to our winner, David Robinson, whose 146 points was enough to hold off all contenders.

Division 2:

Division 2 followed a similar pattern to Div 1 with only 4 points between 1st & 4th. Bob Lancaster chased down our champion but his 139 points fell short of the necessary target. Harry Rice took 3rd place (on countback from Sandy McDonald) with 138 points.. Congratulations go to our Division 2 winner (and defending champion), Liz Murty whose 141 points proved enough to hold off the competition.

 

We had 12 (qualifying) scores of 40+ points with Brian Platt shooting our best score of 43 points. There were also: 3 scores of 42 points, 1 of 41 points, plus 7 scores of 40 points.
