Hola AMIGOS,

Despite good conditions, El Valle provided quite a challenge for most Amigos with scoring being fairly average beyond our top 8, so how did you do? :-
Individual Category 1

This weeks format gave our 'elite' golfers the opportunity to play together and against each other in the team event. It didn't seem to improve their game with the top score being 36pts. (Not so) honourable mentions go to David Boggon & Rob Henshaw (32pts) but our prize winners (decided on lower handicaps) were:

Winner : Chris Hamilton : 36 points (10.3 h/cp)

Runner Up : Alan Kilminster : 36 points (11.3 h/cp)

Third : David Feeney : 36 points (12.3 h/cp)

Individual Category 2

The day's top score was found in this category but mentions go to: Alan Evans, Steve Atkinson, Mick Lynch, Steve Jones & Lorna Shaughnessy (32pts), but our prize winners were:

Winner : Martin Hennessey : 38 points

Runner Up : Dorothy Jones : 36 points

Third : Lynn Lalley : 33 points

Individual Category 3

Very similar experiences here to the other categories with mentions going to: Liz Murty & Graeme Etherington (33pts) and Chrissy ford (32pts),  but our prize winners were:

Winner : Kevin Sutton : 37 points (Lower H/cp)

Runner Up : Caroline Pickering : 37 points

Third : Paul Best : 36 points

Team Competition

A tough format with definite pressure on the 'double point scorers' on each hole. Unusually, Iain managed to create 3 team categories that largely matched the individual categories. Par for this comp was 140pts and only the winner in each category beat that target - so how did it all go?

Cat 1 Winners : Team 1 : 144 points

David Boggon, Chris Hamilton, Brian Platt & Jonatan Herrero Ilinas

Other team scores were: Team 10 = 137pts, Team 4 = 129pts, Team 14 = 127pts, Team 7 = 119pts.

Cat 2 Winners : Team 11 : 145 points

Rob Henshaw, Steve Jones, Lorna Shaughnessy & Sus Tonnisen

Other team scores were: Team 8 = 137pts, Teams 5 & 13 = 132pts, Team 2 = 120.

Cat 3 Winners : Team 3 : 143 points

Kian Herrero Ilinas, Paul Best, Rudy Ceusters & Chrissy Ford

Other team scores were: Team 6 = 136pts, Team 12 = 128pts, Team 15 = 127pts, Team 9 = 113pts

Three TWO's was scored this week, by Alan Wragg (4th), Richard Parks & Colin Walters (12th).

NTP winners this week were:

• Hole 10 = Darren Bakes

• Hole 11 = Eileen Greaney

• Hole 12 = Alan Evans

• Hole 15 = Rob Henshaw

A big thank you to all the organisers and our helpers and I hope to see many of you at our next game which is at El Plantio on 29/10.

Cheers

Brian
