Hola AMIGOS
What a day at Aguilon, it is always worth the drive to play such a beautiful and well maintained course at what fantastic value? It proved to be a severe test for almost everyone with only 1 player breaking par and the day turned out to be the story of 2 individuals. One we will reveal further down but lets give our immediate CONGRATULATIONS to GORDON HUTCHINSON for his HOLE-IN-ONE on the 12th hole from the yellow tees. Apparently his ball almost broke the flag it hit it so hard, but it fell into the hole and that is all that counts. This is Gordon's second Amigos hole-in-one with the previous one being on the 12th at El Valle in 2023 (12 seems to be a lucky number for Gordon).

Individual Category 1
This category was far and away the best performers depite these golfers playing from either the White tees or the Yellow Tees (bar Ladies from Reds). Honourable mentions, however, are limited to Simon Thorpe & Sam McReynolds (33pts) with only the other 3 prize winners scoring more than 30pts. This category also held our 2nd 'hero' of the day with our winner beating every other player by 7 shots 😲 : -
Winner : Andy Duffield : 41 points
Second : Kirk Green : 34 points (lower h/cp)

Third : Dave Robinson : 34 points
Individual Category 2

With all bar 1 from this category playing from the Yellow tees (bar Ladies from Reds), scoring proved to be a major challenge with (for the first time ever) no-one within a category of 18 players achieving 30 points or more. fair to assume, no honourable mentions so who won out:

Winner : Eileen Greaney : 29 points
Second : Mick Lynch : 28 points (lower h/cp)

Third : Sam Broadhurst : 28 points

Individual Category 3

All this category played from the Yellow tees (bar Ladies from Reds), scoring proved to be almost as difficult as category 2 with only our winners achieving 30 points or more. Once again, no honourable mentions:

Winner : Alan Leonard : 31 points
Second : Paul Best : 30 points (lower h/cp)

Third : Adam Sperrink : 30 points

 

Team Competition

The par score for this week's Team competition was 92 points and only our 2 prize winners achieved that.

Winners : Team 2 : 95 points

Colin Walters, Andy Duffield, gail Duffield, Iain Stewart

Second : Team 7 : 94 points

Emmett loftus, Jane hutchinson, Alan Leonard, Gary monks

Other team scores were: Team 1 = 90pts, Team 5 = 88pts, Team 9 = 84pts, Teams 6, 10, 11 = 83pts, Team 3 = 82pts, Team 14 = 77pts, Teams 8 & 13 = 74pts, Team 4 = 70pts, Team 12 = 67pts.

 

5 par 3's gave you Amigos a chance to hammer the ‘Two’s Pot’, and you duly did with a total of 8 * 2's being recorded! Congratulations go to: Dave Robinson (hole 8), Andy Duffield & Gordon Hutchinson (hole 12), David Doig & Jon Thompson (hole 14), Paul Best, Andy Duffield & Steve nicholson (hole 17)

 

NTPs were available at all 5 par 3's and our winners were:

• Hole 17 = Andy Duffield

 

Our next game is our away trip to Las Pinaillas where we have arranged a coach for transport to & from the course (pick ups / drop off at Mar Menor, Peraleja, Hacienda Riquelme & El Valle. We do have availability so if interested please let us know via email asap.
