Congratulations to Damien Reilly, August winner in the Race to Alicante Monthly awards with 47 points @ Roda. Sam McReynolds took 2nd place with 42 pts @ Lo Romero, and Martin Trevillion took 3rd place with 41.0 pts having played both August qualifying games.

The names of all players included within the Ryder Cup 'team draw' (held on 28/8), along with the cost for each player (including evening meal & guests) now visible on the website. Bank payments can be made for this event at your convenience.

Congratulations to Paul Sawyers, July winner in the Race to Alicante Monthly awards with 40 points over 2 games. Liz Murty & Clive Norkett both took 2nd place with the same 40pts,but only having played 1 qualifying game.

Please be aware that if you own a Spanish NIE number then you are not technically allowed to buy the SGF Day Licence as you are required to hold an annual SGF Insurance policy licence to play golf in Spain. Whilst some courses may still sell you a day licence, there is a risk that it could be considered invalid by SGF in the event of you needing to claim.

GNK have confirmed that they DO NOT issue SGF day licences at their courses (we never collected those at GNK courses anyway). Whilst they have a general insurance that will cover "Visitor" golfers, anyone who is an NIE holder will NOT have any insurance unless they have the SGF annual policy.

Please note that for Lo Romero and Las Colinas we do have to confirm exact Player Numbers 3 days in advance and pay for that number. If any Amigo withdraws within that time they will be charged for the full Green fee and buggy payment.

Cancellations and withdrawals after a Sunday start sheet has been issued is becoming quite a headache for us. We have to notify the Golf Courses of expected numbers 7 days before match day so please help us eliminate unnecessary change by checking your bookings on ‘HAVE I BOOKED’ on the website at regular intervals as it is kept up to date. PLEASE!

What an amazing June we have lined up for you with Competitions and Matches at La Finca, Lo Romero, Mar Menor, El Plantio and Villamartin and Vistabella in early July. July / August is the quiet season for golf for obvious reasons in Spain but we have a full programme of Competitions so we are looking for your support wherever possible.

Having met with the Golf Director and Owner of Lo Romero recently they have stressed the problems of managing SLOW PLAY especially from larger visiting Societies. If we can all get around in 4 and half hours, closely monitored by their Marshalls, then we can receive a €5,00 discount on the next Individual Green Fee at that course. Let's get that reward.
