Massive congratulations go to Martin Trevillion on his superb victory taking the 'Race to Alicante - Tier 1' top prize with a fabulous 38 points. This was actually enough to close out the competition after November so his 0 points in December was not a problem for him, with his nearest competition being Ron Weller (28pts) and Harry Rice (26pts)

Congratulations to Jon Thompson in winning the Race to Alicante Tier 2 prize with 18pts over 6 qualifying months. Second place was taken by Carolus Brand with 14 pts over 5 months and Third by James Pearson equally over 5 months

Having examined the scores from 2 years of 'Race to ..' comps we have decided to increase the 'multi game' bonus from 2pts to 3pts per game. Last year over 60% of all prizes went to players with just 1 game in the month so clearly it has proved to be too tough to win when playing more games under the current rules. Lets hope this evens things up a bit.

Our annual Anniversary Cup Away Day(s) sojourn is to OLIVA NOVA BEACH & GOLF RESORT which is midway between Gandia and Denia in Valencia. With a Seve Ballesteros course and the Hotel so well situated right next to the beach, this it’s going to be quite an occasion with the hospitality we have planned.

It is so good that you have appreciated the new logo which recognises your Amigos Shirt-World Tour pictures. Remember at every opportunity wherever you play your golf take a picture with a sign of the golf course with the Amigos shirt and Logo together. You just won’t believe how truly ‘worldwide’ our Shirts have been seen! It’s all on the website.

In 2026 we have to agree the Start Sheet with final numbers of named players two or three days in advance of competition day, on many more golf courses, and be responsible for paying that full amount. If a withdrawal is advised within that ‘in between’ period we will have to charge you, so please be aware!

We will maintain our nominal ‘one-off’ Amigos Membership Fee of €10,00 for 2026 whether you play one game or forty game with us. Such value for money!  It does help us cover overheads, prizes and some subsidies where we consider appropriate.

We repeat our standard message …… please do try not to use the Start Sheet issue as a reminder that you should have cancelled! It really does cause real headaches for our Organisers. Accidents and emergencies cannot be helped, we understand, and we do keep our ‘Have I booked …….’ facility up to date to remind you.

Want a different golf experience? We take you to Villataina Golf, Benidorm on Thursday 26 Feb’26, a first for Amigos and it’s only one and half hours away from Hacienda Riquelme. This is a quality Jack Nicklaus golf course with spectacular views. Just a few places remaining so register quickly to avoid disappointment!

Congratulations go to our two Order of Merit champions for our September - December event. Martin Trevillion took first place in Division 1 and Harry Rice took first place in Division 2. Full details are available on the Order of Merit pages on this website.

Whilst the December Monthly winners have been announced in the Race to Alicante, the major prizes & final winners of all 3 tiers will not be announced until the Amigos game at Lo Romero on 22nd Jan 26.

Congratulations to James Pearson, December winner in the Race to Alicante Monthly awards with 40 points over 1 game. Emmett Loftus took 2nd place with 37 points over 2 games, just edging out Alan Kilminster who achieved the same score but only over 1 game.

Unfortunately we have had to cancel our scheduled game at Alicante on 27th December due to a significant number of player withdrawals and a shortage of organisers to run the game. The original booking was for 52, reduced to 36 but with only 20 bookings we needed to take action. Apologies to those 20 but the decision has been made to cancel.

Congratulations to Shane Bordier, November winner in the Race to Alicante Monthly awards with 40 points over 1 game. Jane Hutchinson took 2nd place with the same 39 points over 2 games. Jamie Allam & Liz McReynolds shared 3rd place with the same 39 points but each having only played 1 game.

Registrations for Amigos 2026 Anniversary Cup ‘Away Day’ to OLIVA NOVA GOLF & BEACH RESORT on 14/15 May’26 are going very well. We still have availability so why not come and join us. The Special Platinum Fours Competition on SATURDAY, 29 Nov’25 is showing ‘fully booked’ and now we have to sort out the Teams of FOUR. If you cannot make up a Team, Bob Lancaster will assist in organising you!

We were disappointed not to have Aguilon Golf, arguably one of the best golf courses throughout Almeria, Murcia and Alicante which you just love, on our Schedule for next year but persistence has paid off and FEAR NOT we are delighted to confirm Thursday 24 Sep’26 to revisit. We can take 56 Golfers only.
