Please notify us of any updates or changes in your details, GNK/U-Golf Memberships, Spain Federated Insurances, Home club changes in handicap (if substantial), walking or buggy requirements, tee-boxes, etc. in order to update our database and make start sheet generation as accurate as possible.

GNK have announced that 01 Sep’20 will see the end of Summer low season green free rates & most Covid-easement offers, but not the ending of Covid-19 controls.

GNK have announced that they will be reopening their Alhama Signature course from Monday, 17th August and with groups of 4 or more players you can get society rates there until end August.

Following its initial success, GNK have decided to repeat their fun 'Pairs Irish Greensome' event on 23/8 @ El Valle. If you are interested then contact Chris Ahern directly (cahern@gnkgolf.com) with both player's name, handicap indexes, Spanish Golf Federation ID numbers and contact details (email or mobile phone). More details via proshop.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bob Webster, earlier this morning. Bob was one of our original Amigos, a good friend and many of you will have played with him in the past. Due to Covid-19 controls, the funeral will be a private affair and our heartfelt condolences go out to Carol, Greg, Nina, and the rest of the family at this difficult time.

GNK have announced they will be hosting a fun tournament at HR on 27/7. It will be a 'pairs' Irish Greensome and if you are interested then contact Chris Ahern directly (cahern@gnkgolf.com) with both players name, handicap indexes, Spanish Golf Federation ID numbers and contact details(email or mobile phone). More details via proshop.

The Amigos game that was scheduled to be at Alhama on 28/8 has now been moved to La Torre due to Alhama still not being reopened.

We have decided to reschedule the 2020 Amigos Anniversary Cup into the slot we now have available on 24th September 2010. The event will be at Hacienda Riquelme and we will transfer all Ryder Cup bookings to the Anniversary Cup. If you DO NOT want to play in the Anniversary Cup, please cancel your original booking.

In line with the real thing, we have decided to postpone our Amigos Ryder Cup to 23rd September 2021. The prospect of playing without the usual crowds just seemed wrong 😀

As the Golden Bear Golf Society have no event in August we have added an extra game into the Amigos calendar on 20/8 where we make an inaugural visit to Altaona. We have also booked to visit there in Dec 2021, when it will be 18 holes, but this is a great chance to enjoy a fun game on what is currently a good 9 hole course.

It is starting to look like Amigos will be very busy in September & October so ensure you book as early as possible to have the best chance of securing your place in the game

In the next 7 days I will be placing an order for more Amigos shirts which will be brought out mid-late September. If you want a shirt and have not already placed an order then complete the 'Shirt Order form' on the website under AMIGOS INFO tab

In an effort to help GNK maintain golf at HR we have moved our 9/7 game at Mar Menor to be played at Hacienda Riquelme

As of today, golfers from different households will be allowed to share a buggy on GNK courses, as long as both players agree to wear a mask during the entire round. Hacienda Riquelme and La Torre: 2 players sharing a buggy = €84, Walking = €34, single buggy = €20. El Valle: 2 players sharing a buggy = €90, Walking = €37, Single buggy = €20.

We can now confirm that the Amigos game on 11/6 will remain at El Valle

Congratulations to Andy Wasik who won the Jan - Apr 2020 Order of Merit trophy with a magnificent 181 points. Further details are available on the 'Order of Merit' pages on this website.

We are delighted to report that Bob Lancaster transferred £128 to the Shakespeare Hospice, following his collections from Amigos & HRGS Golfers, in memory of our sadly departed friend John Breaker. Thank you to everyone that contributed.

Due to uncertainty regarding the availability of Alhama Signature course we have moved the 11/6 game to El Valle. Please cancel if you do not wish to play there, otherwise your booking will be transferred.

Caroline has requested that any donations in John's memory, be made to (https://shakespearehospice.charitycheckout.co.uk/donate). We will make a collection after Thursday's game at Saurines where Amigos have an option to contribute and we will make a single payment to the Hospice of whatever we get.

Rest in Peace – John Breaker, a true Amigo who lost his battle fighting cancer yesterday 15 May 20. He will be remembered by all who played golf with him over recent times
