The Bar/Restaurant at Saurines has now reopened and you have somewhere to sit and relax with a cold beer in hand after your round! They also have a snack menu which is available all day. Opening hours are from 08.00 – 21.00 and later at weekends

We have started work on upgrading the HR Golf Handicap Master system and from 1st May we will be using the same calculation methods to adjust handicaps as the World Handicap System uses. These may mean some players handicaps move (up or down) but more info in the next 2 weeks.

Some of you may have heard that this past weekend the clubhouses at La Torre and Hacienda Riquelme started opening their doors at 8:00. GNK Golf has arranged an agreement with Lots Murcia where the clubhouse will open at 8:00 to allow golfers to use the restroom facilities and get coffee.

24th March Amigos game at Saurines has been cancelled due to the terrible weather and the fact that 4 Amigos have now tested positive for Covid and are isolating following the GB event. It is not known where the virus was contracted but clearly lots of Amigos were also at that GB event so gathering together may not be advisable under the circumstances.

Due to a charity event at El Valle followed by Hollow Tineing & Maintenance activity at the end of August, we have changed 2 of our venues: 25/8 now at Alhama Signature & 1/9 now at La Torre.

Huge congratulations to Josie Aves on her Hole-in-One on the 5th at Hacienda Riquelme in the Amigos game on 10th March 2022. Josie joins Eddie Murty as our only 'Single Shotters' within an Amigos Game.

GNK will be holding a special Solheim Cup event at EL Valle on the 23rd of April where the trophy will be on display. Details are: El Valle Golf, 9:00 Shotgun Start, Entry fee €35, LADIES ONLY, Federated Handicap required. Sign up via golfdirecto or contact GNK personnel.

If you have an accident or are taken ill whilst playing in one of our games you should ring the number on the back of your SGF card (902876627) rather than call for an ambulance. This will ensure you are covered by the SGF insurance you have paid for.

Amigos game on 10/3 now to be played at HR and not La Torre due to a mix-up with GNK. Low season rate has been extended for HR so non-member walking rate is €39 & €44 in a shared Buggy.

Places are still available for La Sella Anniversary trip, 26/27 May, please make decisions as soon as possibly can as it’s going to be awesome!

Please note that the original games to be played at Alhama on 31/3 & 3/5 have now been rearranged to be played at Altaona & Villamartin respectively. No requirement to do anything if you have already booked and are OK with the change, otherwise simply cancel your booking if you do not wish to play at these non-GNK courses.

If you are including a new player in your Amigos game booking, it is essential that you complete a membership request form for that player (at least 2 weeks before the scheduled game) or they will not be able to be added to the Start Sheet and the complete booking is likely to be ignored.

We can inform you that the 2022 JHB Charity Golf Day will be held on Saturday 02 Jul’22. Please liaise with Andy Harvey & the Charity Day organising committee for further details.

With the new year, many people will be renewing their expired GNK memberships & taking out SHF memberships. Please advise an Amigos Committee member if you do so we can ensure that our records are correctly maintained.

To help Amigos understand how their handicaps are managed, how we deal with WHS handicap certificates and how / when we make adjustments, we have updated the AMIGOS HANDICAPS page on the website. It contains more information on all these things, along with a direct link to the Handicap Master portal.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all AMIGOS

To help fund the increased number of games that we are subsidising for players we have decided to tweak our annual subs fees. For 2022, the subs fee will become €10 unless the players first game is in October, November or December in which case that fee will reduce to €5.

2022 sees us introduce an option for Ladies to choose to play off BLUE tees if they so desire. This option is available for approximately 80% of the courses we play and, like the 'Mens Forward' tee selection, will be a 'semi-permanent' change (min 6 weeks) and not a 'by course' option.

The Order of Merit competition is being revamped for 2022 to move to two divisions and to become 'Best 4 from first 6 scores'. This should give a greater number of players a realistic chance to win the competition, particularly given the fact that there will be a trophy for the winner of each division.

A new guide to understanding and completing the Amigos Scorecards has been added to the site under the tabs: AMIGOS INFO - AMIGOS SCORECARDS. Please check it out and let's get the cards cleaner and correctly populated so we can speed up the results collation & reporting.
