25 JUN '26 RESULT FROM - SAURINES
Hola AMIGOS
Great Summer golf was enjoyed by our Amigos at Saurines on Thursday 25 Jun’26. Good course, very playable at a good pace and not such an oppressive level of heat as might have been anticipated. Thank you all for sharing it with us.
Scoring was very good reflecting the ambiance, mood and conditions but before listing the winners we, Amigos Organisers, and all Amigos wherever you might be, should celebrate and congratulate ourselves for raising so much money for charity. Voluntary donations seem to go unnoticed in your prize fund payment at each game where your €1,00’s ‘Two’s Pot’ contributions, even after payments out, have raised an incredible €1.257,00 over the last twelve months for Local and National Charities and Good Causes and this goes into Saturday’s massive fund raising HR Charity Event.
Individual Category 1
Great scoring Amigos with everyone achieving roundabout 30+ and many well surpassing. Honourable mentions are Iain Stewart, 34 points and Grahame Bradbury 35 points. The two podium places had to be determined by a lower handicap though but still deserved congratulations to you both, it was a very close call: -
Winner : James Clasby : 37 points (handicap 15.6)
Runner-Up : Damian Conway : 37 points (handicap 16.1)
Individual Category 2
Again good scoring throughout with the one/two also needing a handicap consideration to separate the winner and both very familiar faces now! Honourably mentioned are Paul Best and Graham Field, 36 points and Diane Nicholls and Gary Conway, 37 points. Congratulations to all and especially the winners: -
Winner : Steve Nicholls : 38 points (handicap 23.0)
Runner-Up : David Wells : 38 points (handicap 27.1)
Team Competition
Standard par for this week’s format was 108 points and that wasn’t even a test for most with the winning teams well surpassing same. Well played everyone.
Winners : Team 1 : 123 points
Rob Walsh, Grahame Bradbury, James Clasby and Steve Nichols
Runners-Up : Team 3
Martin Trevillion, Damian Conway, Phil Brookes and Diane Nicholls.
Other team scores were: Team 8 = 117pts, Team 2 = 115pts, Team 4 = 113pts, Team 7 = 108pts, Team 6 = 107pts, Team 5 = 97pts.
Isn’t it ironic that on the day of ‘Two’s Pot’ Charity presentation no one scored a two! So the Charity collection for 2026/2027 has a sound start!
July sees the start of ‘Amigos Summer Swing’ where we offer great local courses to play at the best lowest season rates and with availability for whoever stays in Spain over Summer or are here on holiday. Whatever the number, and please tell all your Amigos friends and guests, we are open for business each Thursday throughout July and August.
