04 JUN '26 RESULT FROM - VILLAMARTIN
Hola AMIGOS
Summer is really with us now, and whist we started in mostly cloudy conditions yesterday at Villamartin, the sun soon joined us and for a bit it was quite oppressive, until the afternoon breeze joined us. The course was in good condition, and this year a very pleasant marshall led to a very enjoyable day. The results were generally pretty good all round, with one outstanding result: -
Individual Category 1
Three players tied on 33 Stableford points, and 2 with 35 points get honourable mentions, so well done Jeff Cohen, Tom Perkins, Rob Buckey, then Christian Ceuterick and James Pearson. But in second place, very well done to one of our 7 debutants this week, just 1 point behind the winner: -
Winner : James Clasby : 37 points
Runner-Up : Lisa Hollingsworth : 36 points
Individual Category 2
Similar scoring from Cat 1, apart from the runaway winner. Honourable mentions to Carolus Brand and Liz McReynolds on 33 points, Paul Best on 34 and Karen Pearson and Sylvia de Zwart on 35 points. But outstanding are our first 2: -
Winner : Harry Rice : 44 points (YES 44 points)
Runner-Up : Steve Nicholls : 37 points
Team Competition
Not too difficult a format, that Is until Graham decided to put 6 nearest the pins that all 4 count! That made it fun. Standard dcratch would be 96 points, and half the field (5 teams) achieved that. But the winners and runners both exceeded 100 points, so very well done to: -
Winners : Team 2 : 106 points
Damian Conway, Steve Nicholls, Paul Best and ghost James Clasby.
Second : Team 5 : 101 points
Ron Weller, Graham Booth, Graham Field and Karen Pearson
Other team scores were: Team 9 = 99pts, Team 4 = 98pts, team 3 = 96pts, Teams 8 & 10 = 95pts, Team 6 = 93pts, Team 7 = 91pts, Team 1 = 83pts..
With 6 x NTP’s to show off your skills no one even got onto the green on one of them but our winners were:
-
Hole 6 - Nobody on the green
-
Hole 7 - Rob Buckey
-
Hole 9 - Rob Buckey
-
Hole 13 - Sue Nicol
-
Hole 17 - Alan Kilminster
-
Hole 18 - Christian Ceuterick
Rob Buckey was the only one to manage a "two", on hole 9, so congratulations to him and a good day for the charity.
Coming up we have Vistabella next Thursday, Lo Romero for the match against the Golden Bear the week after, and the end of the month we are at Saurines. Please sign up asap if you are interested in these events.
Many thank yous to all of the Amigos Organisers and Helpers whether at the course or behind the scenes who contributed to the smoothest running of the event.
See you at another Amigos game soon
Iain

Congratulations to Everyone Who Took Part and Helped Make it a Great Day for All
