Wow!  The Amigos always seem to enjoy Vistabella and somewhat take it apart. Yesterday we had good conditions, and whilst the greens had been fairly recently hollow tined (which gave us a generous discount), putting did not seem to be overly taxing.  Interesting stats from yesterday to illustrate how well many of you played – 70% of players scored at least 30 points, and 43% scored par of 36 or better!  Oh – and 6 players achieved 40 club inclusion.
Let’s see how you actually performed:-

Individual Category 1

36 points for Sam McReynolds, Dave Robinson and Brian Platt, 37 for Ron Weller and Steve Fitzpatrick, and 38 for Colin Walters and Andy Duffield.  But a runaway leader emerged: 

Winner : Tom Perkins : 44 points

Second : Alan Kilminster : 39 points

Individual Category 2

Again excellent scoring -  36 points, Harry Rice and Iain Stewart, 37 points James Pearson, 38 Nigel Horsfield and Elert Austman, 39 for Mike McGread and Ken Roche, and most unlucky, just off the podium by way of a slightly higher handicap, Ruud Woudstra with 42 points. In fact, the top 3 were all only separated by handicap. Well played everybody:

Second : Graham Whant : 42 points

​Individual Category 3

2 more for the 40s club here, and also honourable mentions for Steve Nicholls and Graham Field for 37 points, and especially Gary Conway with 39 points. But well done to:

Second : Mo Khan : 42 points

Team Competition 
The 3 counting with bonus holes gives a par score of 140 points, which needs good consistent scoring to achieve.  In fact over half of the teams did manage to achieve this mark and better:
Winners : Team 8 : 163 points
Andy Duffield, Gordon Hutchinson, Mo Khan & David Wells
Runners-Up : Team 6 : 155 points
Sam McReynolds, Graham Whant, Ruud Woudstra and Graham Field
3rd Place : Team 3 : 154 points
Dave Robinson, Stephen Day, Mike McGread and ghost, Diane Nicholls.

​Other team scores were: Team 4 = 146pts, Teams 1 & 14 = 145pts, Team 2 = 142pts, Team 13 = 141pts, Team 5 = 135pts, Team 10 = 133pts, Team 9 = 132pts, Teams 7 & 12 = 122pts, Team 11 = 120pts.

 

Interesting having 1 par 3, 1 par 4 and 1 par 5 featuring in this, and Cat 1 players excelled (and each birdied these holes).

Now the excitement is rising for next weeks annual match against the Golden Bears at Lo Romero.  Let us hope that we can overcome them this year – it is about time after 3 successive losses!  We have a strong looking team and look forward to some matchplay.  After that we have visits to Saurines and La Marquessa before the summer swing starts.
