12 MAR '26 RESULT FROM  -  SERENA GOLF

Hola AMIGOS
Despite the major potential disaster finally averted by Graham and Brian´s hard work, it was a really great day at Serena Golf this afternoon with much improved weather.
The were some impressive performances and, although we totalled 139 balls hit into water between us, some high points scores were achieved . Let’s see how you actually performed.
Individual Category 1
Four players tied on 35 Stableford points and are honourably mentioned, namely Brian Platt, Simon O¨Connor, Andy Duffield and Anne Hollman-Bunn, With 36 points, just missing out on the podium by higher handicap is Kevin Batchelor, but our prize winners are: -

Winner : Jon Thompson : 37 points (lower handicap)
Runner-Up : Alan Kilminster : 37 points

Third : Neil Tobin : 36 points (lower handicap)
Individual Category 2
Even better scoring than category 1, with 15 out of 18 scoring 30 points plus. Honourable mentions for both Sandy McDonald and Andy Wasik with 36 points, eclipsed by : -

Winner : Neville Custance : 40 points
Runner-Up : Iain Stewart : 38 points

Third : Ron Weller : 37 points
Individual Category 3
The top 3 were some way ahead of the rest in this category, but honourable mentions on 34 points for Sylvia De Zwart and An van Den Borre, but kudos to: -

Winner : Rudy Ceusters : 41 points
Runner-Up : Alan Leonard : 39 points

Third : Christine Gibbons : 38 points
Team Competition
Some teams were more effected by the format, and had points left on the course by visits to the lakes.  However when we have the winners of all 3 categories in the same team, and the 4th member also being on 34 points, there really was only going to be one runaway winner.

Winners : Team 11 : 133 points
Jon Thompson, Neville Custance, Rudy Ceusters and Eileen Greaney

Runners-Up : Team 7 : 120 points
Brian Platt, Gordon Hutchinson, Ron Weller and Alan Leonard
3rd Place : Team 14 : 117 points
Colin Walters, Andy Wasik, Harry Rice and Sue Thompson.

4 Twos were recorded this week with €5 going to: Neville Custance & Alan Leonard (Hole 3), Simon O'Connor (Hole 15) & Malcolm Sutton (Hole 17).
Congratulations sharpshooters: Karen Pearson, Hole 15; Brian Platt, Hole 16 in 2,  Malcolm Sutton, Hole 17 and Andy Duffield, Hole 18 in 4.

Next up is a trip down to Desert Springs, followed by Alhama Signature, Altorreal, then close to home at Hacienda Riquelme, and at the end of April a trip to Alenda. We have a few spaces available on all, except Altorreal which is showing full, but if you would like to join the waiting list, please contact me.
As always, many thank yous to all of the Amigos Organisers and Helpers whether at the course or behind the scenes who contributed to the running of the event, though perhaps after this we should draw a line under Bobs ´winning´ personal tally of 9 water balls!
See you at another Amigos game soon
Iain
