05 FEB '26 RESULT FROM - LAS COLINAS
Hi all,
It was good to see a warmer day for the Amigos today at Las Colinas, with temperatures in the low 20s. However, we can´t seem get away from those fresh breezes at the moment, although the early starters benefited from calmer conditions. So, the results show generally a bit of a struggle for many, with a couple of notable exceptions.
With 2 competitions running sequentially, processing the scores was a little trickier than normal, but here they are:
Comp 1 - Individual Category 1
No runaway winner here and only one player under par. A mention for Neil Tobin with 33 points, but the prize winners were:
Winner : Mick Lynch : 37 points
Runner-Up : Paul Taylor : 35 points
3rd Place : Martin Hennessey : 35 points
Comp 1 - Individual Category 2
Apart from the outstanding score by the winner, the rest seemed to have similar scoring to division 1. Mentions for Jane McDonald at 33 pts, and Finola Tobin and Nigel Smith at 32 pts.
Winner : Henrik Tonnisen : 41 points
Runner-Up : Mike McGread : 37 points
3rd Place : Sandy McDonald : 34 points
Comp 1 - Team Competition
A fairly uncomplicated format with 2 counting on Par 4s and 5s, and all 4 counting on the 5 Par 3s, giving a par score of 92 points. Only 2 of the 8 teams achieved better than par, but the runaway winners won by 10 points, with Team 5 mentioned with 94 pts: -
Winners : Team 1 : 104 points
Garry Elderbrand, Martin Hennessy, Henrik Tonnisen & Jane McDonald
Other team scores were: Team 5 = 94pts, Team 2 = 90pts, Team 8 = 89pts, Team 7 = 86pts, Teams 4 & 6 = 84pts, Team 3 = 83pts.

Comp 2 - Individual Category 1
This time the runaway winner is in this category, with no-one else reaching par. Mentions for Ragnar Hilmarsson with 31 and Russ Fisher, just missing the frame on countback with 32.
Winner : Jon Thompson : 39 points
Runner-Up : Dave Robinson : 33 points
3rd Place : Colin Walters : 32 points
Comp 2 - Individual Category 2
Quite closely run this time, with only the winner hitting par. Mentions for Adam Martin, 31 pts and Graham Booth, 32 pts. Second and third separated by lower handicap.
Winner : Liz McReynolds : 36 points
Runner-Up : Steve Nicholls : 33 points
3rd Place : Bob Lancaster : 33 points
Comp 2 - Team Competition
More closely run than Game 1, with 4 teams better then par, but the winners were a little ahead of second placed Team 16 (96 pts): -
Winners : Team 15 : 99 points
Jon Thompson, Dave Robinson, Eva Karlsdottir and Andrew Smithurst.
Other team scores were: Team 16 = 96pts, Team 10 = 95pts, Team 12 = 93pts, Teams 11 & 13 = 90pts, Team 14 = 88pts, Team 9 = 83pts.
No NTP or 2's contest for this week as it is too complicated with 2 games, so we did not take monies for the 2s. They´ll be back next week!
February continues with outings to Roda Golf next week, and Villaitana on the 26th. We would like to encourage as many as possible to discover the attractions of the later, which is a new course for many of us.
As always, many thanks to all of the Amigos Organisers and Helpers whether at the course or behind the scenes who contributed to the smoothest running of the event.
By the way, if anyone found or was given a Ping Head cover, please can you let me know.
Cheers
Iain Stewart

Congratulations to Everyone Who Took Part and Helped Make it a Great Day for All
