12 FEB '26 RESULT FROM - RODA
Hi all
Beautiful warm sun, but another windy day – we have had a few of those so far this year. However, the scores achieved at Roda today were pretty reasonable, whilst the conditions meant that there were no really high scores. But well done all, with nearly 50% of the field achieving 30 points or more.
Individual Category 1
Mostly steady scoring quite closely bunched. Mentions for Jon Thompson and Simon Thorpe with 33 points, but your prize winners (divided by handicap):
Winner : Paul Carroll : 36 points
Runner-Up : Jerry Keohane : 36 points
Individual Category 2
Similar to Cat 1, quite steady with the first 2 some way up ahead, and our winner the only player in the field to achieve better than par. Mentions for Ron Weller and Harry Rice with 32 points.
Winner : Ilona Gregory : 37 points
Runner-Up : Ruud Woudstra : 36 points
Individual Category 3
A bit more of a struggle for this division in general, but good performance mentions with 33 points for Jane McDonald and Gary Conway.
Winner : Diane Nicholls : 36 points
Runner-Up : Henrik Tonnisen : 35 points
Team Competition
A spread of scores, with any chance of success depending of achieving wiping out the 50 point deficit start position by the turn. Par score was 64 points, and 5 teams managed to improve on this. 3rd place was decided on lower team handicaps over Teams x and x with the same score.
Winners : Team 2 : 71 points
Garry Elderbrand, Jerry Keohane, Ruud Woustra and Christine Gibbons.
Runners-Up : Team 14 : 67 points
Alan Kilminster, Sean Fyles, Ilona Gregory and Dave Hughes.
Third Place : Team 1 : 65 points
Colin Walters, Sam and Kyran Broadhurst, and Diane Nicholls.
Other team scores were: Teams 5 & 9 = 65pts, Team 3= 61pts, Team 4 = 58pts, Teams 13 & 15 = 57pts, Team 12 = 56pts, Team 11 = 54pts, Teams 6 & 8 = 49pts, Team 7 = 47pts, Team 10 = 45pts.
The target-shooters performed well with hole 18 proving far too easy for two players and our NTP winners were: Harry Rice, Hole 7; Garry Elderbrand, Hole 12; Jonathan Thompson, Hole 13; Paul Carroll & Simon Thorpe shared the Hole 18 prize with a pair of birdies.
