Hola AMIGOS
A truly International field played La Finca today, a great course, but challenging in weather conditions which were much better than predicted but we will all remember the day because of one special Amigo, Martin Trevillion. His golfing pedigree, quality and consistency throughout 2025 saw him deservedly win the Platinum Property Order of Merit, Category 1 for the period September-December and become the ‘Race to Alicante’ Tier 1 Category & Champion.  And he’s such a nice guy too and modest in his achievements. Thank you Dave Hughes, the 2024 ‘Race to La Finca’ Champion for coming over especially to present the Winner with his prizes.
But let’s now focus on today’s golf performances: -
Individual Category 1
As expected from our best golfers scoring in the main was well above average and have no hesitation in honourably mentioning these Amigos, Martin Trevillion, 35 points, Lucy Hole and Paul Carroll, 36 points and Sam McReynolds, 37 points. Many congratulations and especially to the top two separated only by a lower handicap.
Winner : Paul Taylor : 38 points (Handicap 9.8)
Runner-Up : Mark Cocker : 38 points (Handicap 12.7)
Individual Category 2
The returns were not too shabby from this division either but capped off by two of the best scores of the day!  Carol Brand and Lynn Lalley, 34 points, Harry Rice, 36 points and Mick Lynch 37 points are honourably mentioned so well done all and what a brilliant score from the winner: -
Winner : Elert Austmann : 42 points
Runner-Up : Stan Lalley : 39 points
Individual Category 3
The effort was there but the results did not quite equate to good scoring, that is with the exception of the Winner.  Well played all the same and Finola Tobin 32 points and Gary Conway, 33 points are mentioned in good favour. 
Winner : Liz McReynolds : 39 points
Runner-Up : Bob Lancaster : 35 points
Showing us how to play the Par 3’s well with shots closest to the Flags were, Mark Cocker, Hole 3; Anthony Gray, Hole 6; Liz McReynolds, Hole 13 and Colin Walters, Hole 16 and these Sharpshooters recorded Two’s, Olof Asgeirsdottir, Hole 6; Duncan McGugan, Hole  13 and Anthony Gray and Andrew Smithurst on Hole 16. Congratulations.
Team Competition 
Standard Par with 3 scores counting is 108 points and these composite Teams exceeded that par comfortably. So, well done the top three and every other Team who got close.
Winners : Team 13 : 118 points

Runners-Up : Team 2 : 114 points
Simon Thorpe, Mark Cocker, Hans Beque and Lynn Lalley
3rd Places : Team 6 : 110 points

Other Team scores were: Team 7 = 109pts, Teams 1/10 = 108pts, Teams 8/9 = 106pts, Teams 3/5/12 = 104pts, Team 15 = 101pts, Team 11 = 100pts, Team 14 = 98pts, Team 4 = 96pts.
