Hola AMIGOS
Thank you all for joining us at Roda Golf today, it was really appreciated.  A good number enjoyed the second game of the Amigos ‘Summer Swing’ and the early start did seem to go down well. Roda Golf is always a great venue to play whatever the time of year and today was no exception despite greens which took a while to come to terms with.
Did these conditions bring out the ‘golfer’ in you?  Well on the whole it did with some very good scoring and a real stand out in one particular case.  Let’s see how you did: -
Individual Category 1
60%+ of you scored 30 points and above which is how it should be at your level of golf and these players can be commended; Sean Fyles, Sam McReynolds and Andy Reeves, 32 Stableford points; Dave Robinson, 33; Steve Fitzpatrick, 34; Ron Weller, 35 and the two podium places went to Amigos who could only be separated by handicap analysis. Congratulations to all and especially these Amigos: -
Winner : JAMES CLASBY : 38 points (handicap 12.9)
Runner-Up : Terry McCartney : 38 points (handicap 18.8)
Individual Category 2
Shooting just a shade under the Category 1 golfers, you Amigos turned in some good results where, Eileen Greaney and Graham Field, 33 points; Marc VanderCruyssen, 34 and Liz McReynolds, 36 points (handicap 28.6) can be honourably mentioned. Unfortunately Liz was level with the Runner-Up but just lost out on a very tight handicap margin.  But no doubting the winner who finished a clear 5 points ahead of everyone else in the field!
Winner : AIDEN McCRORY : 43 points
Runner-Up : Gary Conway : 36 points (handicap 27.2)
Team Competition 
A tough competition was set for you today having a standard par of 108 points and with everyone having to contribute on at least 6 holes. 4 Teams managed it with aplomb and the others weren’t that far behind. Good teamwork Amigos!
Team 7, Kevin Scott, Dave Robinson, Alan Evans and Gary Conway can be honourably mentioned finishing on the same score (110 points), same total handicaps and just losing out on a back nine calculation!
Winners : Team 3 : 114 points

Runners-Up : Team : 6 : 110 points
Sam McReynolds, Terry McCartney, Eileen Greaney and Diane Nicholls.

Other team scores were: T2 = 108pts, Teams 4 & 9 = 98pts, Teams 1 & 8 = 96pts, Team 5 = 94pts.
The Charity ‘Two’s Pot’ appreciated that there were no twos recorded today!
The Amigos Summer Swing continues at La Torre on Thursday 23 Jul’26 so please join us and especially if you have GNK Memberships.  That is followed consecutively on Thursdays at these local courses, New Sierra Golf, El Valle, Altaona, Saurines and Villamartin. Just register or let us know.
