30/10/25 ALTAONA

ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hola  AMIGOS
Modify the infamous 12th Hole which seems to unfairly challenge golfers of all abilities who do not speak well of it, improve the aesthetics of the 12-14th Holes and maybe you have a vastly improved Golf Course experience.  The Food and Beverage side certainly works well and the new Terraza Bar, now open, is well worth trying out. All in all Altaona should not be underestimated on the Amigos Tour!
The course is toughening up and more challenging and that seems to have been reflected in the returns.  Let’s see: -
Individual Category 1
A very good effort from our elite Category 1 Players.  Overall, not outstanding, but very well played. Martin Trevillion, Steve Jones and Mike Harrison can be commended scoring 34 Stableford points and the podium places were more than respectable. Congratulations: -
Winner : Sandy McDonald : 37 points
Runner-Up : Klaus Hummel : 36 points (h/c 14.0)
3rd Place : Terry McCartney : 36 points (h/c 22.5)
Team Category 1
A winning Team should exceed standard par and despite a tricky format this winning Team gelled very well together to achieve same, congratulations: -
Winners : Team 7 : 112 points

Other Cat 1 team scores were: Team 1 = 109pts, Team 9 = 109pts, T3 = 104pts, Teams 5 & 10 = 98pts.

Individual Category 2
A very good performance, on the whole from Amigos in this Division which sees Diane Nicholls, Esther Siegrist score 33 points, Bob Lancaster, 34 points and Steve Nicholls, 35 points and can all be honourably mentioned.  Well played everyone and especially our 1-2-3 returning matching scores to the Division 1 Players: -

3rd Place : Ellert Austmann : 36 points (h/c 24.8)
Team Category 2
Another very good Team combo playing under par and deserving of their prizes are: -

Mike McGread, Chris Dunne, Diane Nicholls and Esther Siegrist
Other Cat 2 team scores were: Team 11 = 99pts, Team 2 = 98pts, Team 6 = 95pts, Team 7 = 91pts.
Nearest the Pin Sharpshooters showing us how to play the innocuously designated Holes, which still proved difficult for some, were Colin Hynd, Holes 3 and 11; Mike McGread, Hole 17 and Steve Fitzpatrick, Hole 18 (in 2). Great golf shots!

We are still showing some availability on the register for La Serena, next Thursday 06 Nov’25; Golf Altorreal, Thursday 13 Nov’25; New Sierra, Thursday 27 Nov’25 and to join the reserve list for the Platinum 4’s on Saturday 29 Nov’25 please register or just let us know soonest.
We are so pleased that you like the new shirts which pay tribute to the Amigos Shirt-World Tour through a new Amigos Logo.  And especially you Ladies for which It has taken Brian Platt such a long time to source a complimentary design and matching colour!
Thank you to today’s Organisers and Helpers, Iain Stewart, Bob Lancaster, Brian Platt, Paul Best, Ron Weller and Martin Trevillion all contributing to make the Competition go so well. And, a big thank you to all of you Amigos, especially debutants Eva and Ellert, for your patience and to applaud the prize winners and  hope that you thoroughly enjoyed your day.
So looking forward to next week’s Water Course! 😂
