24/10/25 CAMPOSOL

ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hola  AMIGOS
We really appreciated your support for taking on the challenge of Camposol today. And it was a challenge wasn’t it?  Not the finest of golf courses we play, somewhat shabby around the edges, but on a very summer-like day in the middle of October, with no wind the golf scoring was down to you? But how did you do?  Let’s see.
Individual Category 1
Somewhat of a struggle, it has to be said, with some highs and some lows an average set of statistics. We can honourably mention Martin Trevillion and Chris Dunne, with 33 Stableford points and Mike McGread, 31 points.  Good effort everyone and many congratulations to those making the podium: -
Winner : Jonathon Thompson : 36 points
Runner-Up : Paul Best : 35 points
3rd Place : Lynn Lalley : 34 points
Individual Category 2
Winning totals of 40+ in this Category was unachievable on this course, nethertheless a good effort from many Amigos and some will improve dramatically next time around now knowing how to play the course with its many characteristic blind holes and ramblas. Mentions are afforded to Liz Murty, 30 points and Eddie Murty,(h/c 35.2) and Pauline Wood, (h/c 28.0)31 vied for third place. Well played and especially the 1-2-3 with winner and runner-up prizes being won by two debutants: -
Winner : Michael Hession : 36 points
Runner-Up : Duncan McGugan : 32 points
3rd Place : An Van Den Borre : 31 points (h/c 27.4)
Team competition
A Dusty Bin, Amigos Style, with 4-3-2 scoring system was difficult enough on a tricky course but so pleased that one Team, one stand-out Team, achieved standard par of 108 points.
A clear 10 points ahead of the field!  The rest of the Team scores were close and you gelled better as Teams. Well played: -
Winners : Team 7 : 108 points
Ellis Butler, Mike McGread, Gary Conway and Michael Hession
Runners-Up : Team 6 : 98 points
Kevin Scott, Chris Dunne, Lynn Lalley and Rinus de Zwart.
Other team scores were: Team 2 = 97pts, Team 4 = 96pts, Team 3 = 93pts, Teams 5 & 10 = 94pts, Team 9 = 93pts, Team 1 & Team 8 = 87pts.
4 two’s where recorded today by our target-shooters Michael Hession, Hole 3 and Paul Best, Lynn Lalley and Brian Platt on Hole 13. Great shots Amigos.

Many thanks to today’s Organisers and Helpers, Brian Platt, Bob Lancaster, Iain Stewart, Paul Best and Ron Weller.
Thank you once again for your patience and support, especially the debutants and it was so good to have so many long-time returnees blending in with the regulars.
Hope to see as many of you as possible at Altaona next week and don’t be deterred by the course it is actually playing well.
Muchas gracias
