What a great atmosphere you created today at Roda Golf and it was so good to have so many returnees join us, alongside you summer regulars, all mixing to contribute towards that good vibe. But today was all about One Amigo, DAMIEN REILLY, who had the game of his year returning 47 Points! What an outstanding achievement Damien but how well did you other Amigos perform?  Let’s see: -
Individual Category 1
Outstanding golf across the board taming the course with some excellent golf despite the very hot weather.  Making his debut, James Joyce can be commended with 34 Stableford points (handicap 1.7) and even 2 Players with 38 points can be honourable mentioned, Colin Walters and Richard Parks, but not making the prizes regrettably. On any other day they surely would!  Many congratulations to all and especially to the podium place standouts who crucified the course and taking deserved membership of the ‘Amigos Forties Club’: -
Winner : Damien Reilly : 47 points (FORTY SEVEN POINTS!)
Runner-Up : Martin Trevillion : 42 points
Individual Category 2
Not quite as ‘hot’ as the Category 1 Players but no less impressive than the leading players of this Division. Andrew Smithurst, 35 points and Doriano Castellini, 38 points (hc 25.9) are hereby honourable mentioned. The Runner-Up could only be separated by ‘goal difference’ but again your winner joins the ‘Amigos Forties Club’ with an impressive display. Well played Category 2 Players: -

Runner-Up : Steve Nichols : 38 points (hc 25.3)
Team Competition
With a ‘Mean Stableford’ format (Total of 4 Player’s Stableford scores divided by the 4 Players in the four-ball) we were expecting a backlash of accusations of being very unkind as it is such a tough game!  What we mean’t by ‘mean’ is the ‘average’! With 36 being the ‘mean’ your scores, on the contrary, were very very good and your winning Team well surpassed this target. So, well played everyone and especially the one-two.
Winners : Team 1 : 38.75 points
Richard Parks, Kevin Scott, Damien Reilly and Steve Nicholls
Runners-Up : Team 2 : 34.5 points
Colin Walters, Dave Robinson, Bruce Edwards and Doriano Castellani.
Other team scores were: Team 4 = 33.25, Team 6 = 32.5, Team 5 = 29.0, Team 3 = 26.5
Well done, also, Richard Parks for recording the only Two today on Hole 7 (The island green no less!)
The rest of the Summer Swing sees us play Lo Romero next Thursday 21 Aug’25 followed by Villamartin Thursday 28 Aug’25 and Alenda Golf  on Thursday 04 Sep’25.

You must all be aware that we will have the ‘live’ draw for the Amigos Ryder Cup with Captain America, Diane Nicholls, being present but we will also introduce our Competition Fixtures for the whole of 2026 too. That will include Honours Board venues, new Golf courses to play, our ‘Race to……’ venue for the year and our Amigos Anniversary Cup destination.  Please do come and support us especially for that one, as well as the others mentioned, as we do have availability.
