09/10/25 AGUILON
ARCHIVED RESULT FROM
Hola AMIGOS
Have we introduced you to your new favourite golf course? We do hope so. Aguilon is stunningly beautiful, well conditioned and with its unique tee-box set-up, challenging for all levels of golfer and its reputation as one of the best golf courses in this area large area of Spain completely justified. It’s not that far away and although some of us played through some testing weather we did see the course at its best in interludes. Did you do justice to this course? Well not really, the 40+ points of recent competitions were not even on the horizon!
Individual Category 1
You gave it a good go and whilst being overwhelmed by those white Falcon tees initially, you were there as a result of your level of golf ability, you were tested but came through the challenge well. Steve Perkins and John Byrne are honourably mentioned with 33 Stableford points and especially Alan Kilminster, 36 points (h/c 11.6) just missed out on a prize with a slightly higher handicap. Your one/two certainly past the examination though! Congratulations every Category 1 Amigo: -
Winner : Martin Trevillion : 37 points
Runner-Up : Shane Bordier : 36 points (h/c 10.8)
Individual Category 2
Not adapting to the conditions as well as the Category 1 Golfers but an excellent attempt with a worthy top 2. Jane Hutchinson’s 32 points is mentioned honourably, but only her.
Thank you for your performances: -
Winner : James Pearson : 37 points
Runner-Up : Serge Petruzziello : 35 points
Individual Category 3
A distinct difference from the top two divisions was highlighted by the returns from this group of Amigos. Finding it difficult from their ‘bird boxes’, Sparrow and Red Lory tees we are sure that now being acquainted with the course you will want to prove that higher scores are possible. No mentions and winning scores were ‘surprising’ to say the least. But we really appreciate you guys giving it a good go and mitigating your defence was playing through 5/6 holes in a heavy downpour. Well done: -
Winner : Gary Conway : 30 points
Runner-Up : Alan Leonard : 29 points
Team Competition
Never quite expecting to achieve standard par of 72 points even with three scores counting the podium Teams were close and the Team combinations of the others were very respectable. Congratulations everybody: -
Winners : Team 12 : 103 points
Alan Kilminster, Steve Fitzpatrick, Mick Lynch and Liz McReynolds
Runners-Up : Team 10 : 99 points
Steve Perkins, John Byrne, Adam Sperrink and Eddy Murty.
Other team scores were: Teams 2 & 12 = 94pts, Team 4 = 92pts, Team 7 = 91pts, Team 11 = 90pts, Team 1 = 88pts, Teams 5, 6 & 9 = 87pts, Team 3 = 83pts, Team 8 = 82pts.
Clever Tee Shots from Falcon, Partridge, Sparrow and Red Lory tees won ‘Nearest the Pin’ prizes for Martin Hennessey, Hole 3; Colin Walters, Hole 8, Hazel Price, Hole 12; Adam Sperrink, Hole 14 and Yvonne Keohane, Hole 17 and Hazel and Yvonne converted their shots for Twos. Shooting Two’s also were Shane Bordier, Gail Duffield and Gordon Hutchinson, Hole 3; Serge Petruzziello, Hole 14 and Paul Taylor on Hole 17. And all Par 3’s had their extreme difficulties!
