The first Order of Merit event of 2025 saw another new record of 217 different players competing across 12 games and the 'cut-off' handicap for Division 2 was 18.9, with anyone lower being in the Division 1 category. A total of 60 players managed to complete the full 4 qualifying games with 34 managing to hit the maximum 6 game tally & 12 managing 5 games.

Division 2 was a much more exciting contest than Div 1 with our eventual winner coming out of nowhere to take top spot on the final day. Chris Dunne was our early leader with 146pts but could only take 3rd place when he was chased down in week 10 by Mark Seed who managed 147pts. This looked to be the winning score with potentially on Diane Nicholls having a realistic chance to catch Mark on the last day. Diane fell just short with 145pts but from nowhere, improving his worst counting score by 22 in the last game was Wayne Goodwin. Congratulations go to our Division 2 winner Wayne Goodwin whose 151 points knocked Mark Seed into 2nd place and toop the trophy.

We had some fantastic scoring this trimestre with 16 (qualifying) scores of 40+ points and Harry Rice shooting our best score of 46 points. There were also: 1 score of 44pts, 2 scores of 43pts, 5 scores of 42 points, 2 of 41 points, plus 5 scores of 40 points. Special mention should go to Wayne Goodwin who managed both a 43pts & 40pts in his qualifying scores and commiserations to Paul Best whose 45 point tally at Mar Menor was not a qualifier.
