The first Order of Merit event of 2025 saw another new record of 217 different players competing across 12 games and the 'cut-off' handicap for Division 2 was 18.9, with anyone lower being in the Division 1 category. A total of 60 players managed to complete the full 4 qualifying games with 34 managing to hit the maximum 6 game tally & 12 managing 5 games.

The scoring in Division 1 was unusually low with only our winner getting a typical score for the top three. Had Andy Wasik managed a 6th game he may have contended for 1st place but being stranded on 136pts with Ron Weller, found himself in 4th on countback. Ron was pipped by Garry Elderbrand on 137pts which was enough to take 2nd place. No-one could get close to our leader though and our congratulations go to Steve Fitzpatrick, who took the top spot (and his 3rd OOM trophy) with 145pts. 

We had some fantastic scoring this trimestre with 16 (qualifying) scores of 40+ points and Harry Rice shooting our best score of 46 points. There were also: 1 score of 44pts, 2 scores of 43pts, 5 scores of 42 points, 2 of 41 points, plus 5 scores of 40 points. Special mention should go to Wayne Goodwin who managed both a 43pts & 40pts in his qualifying scores and commiserations to Paul Best whose 45 point tally at Mar Menor was not a qualifier.
