23/04/26 HACIENDA RIQUELME

ARCHIVED RESULT FROM

Hi all,
So, after a calm start to the day, the wind revisited us again yesterday, and definitely made scoring a struggle at Hacienda Riquelme.
The results reflect this, but there were a couple of notable exceptions.

Individual Category 1
Three players tied on 32 Stableford points (both Reg and Lucy Hole plus Roger Wood), and 2 on 34 (Ron Weller and Martin Trevillion), warrant mentions, the winner had a great day and won by quite a margin: -
Winner: Andy Wasik 39 points
Runner-up: Brian Platt 35 points

Individual Category 2
The players in this category generally found it a bit of struggle, but well done to the top 2, and a mention also for Anthony Gray on 32 points, and on 33 points Dot Jones, Ruud Woudstra and Anthony Derbyshire : -
Winner: Graham Swift 35 points
Runner-up: Harry rice 34 points

Individual Category 3
Two outstanding scores in this division, while again many others struggled. But mentions go to Aiden McCrory on 31 points and An van Den Borre on 33 points:, with the prize winners being: -
Winner: Diane Nicholls 38 points
Runner-up: Paul Best 37 points

Team Competition
We don´t play Medalford very often, and it does make it quite interesting, if a bit of a challenge for the adjudicator!  However the lower the score, the better and 8 teams were ahead of par. Your winners were:-
Winners :  Team 5 : 5 points
Lucy Hole, Stephen Day, Paul Best and Aiden McCrory
Runners-up : Team 9 : 9 points
Steve Perkins, Chris Dunne, Diane Nicholls and ghost (Graham Swift)
Third : Team 11 : 11 points
Andy Wasik, Dot Jones, Steve Nicholls and Gary Conway.

Other team scores were: Teams 3, 12 & 14 = 13pts, Teams 2 & 13 = 15pts, Team 10 = 18pts, Team 8 = 21pts, Teams 1 & 4 = 23pts, Teams 6 & 7 = 26pts.

Some good performances here to get near to the pins in the wind. Well done to:
Hole 5 - Brian Platt
Hole 7 - Harry Rice
Hole 15 - Karen Perkins
Hole 17 - Roger Wood
Only one 'two' today, so congratulations to Steve Fitzpatrick on Hole 5.

Next week we are visiting Alenda, a really nice layout to play, and this is on WEDNESDAY rather than Thursday, and there are a couple of spaces available – please contact me asap if interested.  After that there is the challenge of Las Ramblas, followed by the Anniversary Cup away days at Oliva Nova.
Many thank yous to all of the Amigos Organisers and Helpers whether at the course or behind the scenes who contributed to the smoothest running of the event.
Regards
Iain
