27 NOV '25 RESULT FROM  -  NEW SIERRA

Hola AMIGOS
Wasn’t it cold today, and that wind?  Well, especially for those of us who live here and are not that used to it!  This though did seem to have a bearing on your performance, but maybe it was the rock hard surfaces we played off and especially the fast greens which contributed too. Oh, and the Medalford format!
You weren’t at your best today individually but there were some quality exceptions and you certainly gelled together as Teams with all but two Teams recording well under standard par scores, so well played.
Category 1 Individual
Honourable mentions are extended to Martin Trevillion, 35 Stableford points and Russ Fisher, Klaus Hummel and Nigel Horsfield, 37 points and all deserving of our attention but the winners stood out didn’t they? Many congratulations: -

Winner : Brian Dagnall : 39 points
Runner-Up : Dot Jones : 38 points
Individual Category 2
Same story for this Category, good, respectable and exceptional returns. Gary Conway and Graham Field, 35 points and Harry Rice and Mary Lynam, 36 points are honourably mentioned. The runner-up played very well but the winner was points ahead of the total field and joins the Amigos Forties Club, what a day!

Winner : Sue Horsfield : 40 points
Runner-Up : Bob Lancaster : 38 points
Team Competition
As stated above, the make up of the Team Four-Balls was well balanced and some very good scores were recorded.  This Medalford had the best two medal scores counting on the front 9 Holes and 3 best Stableford scores counting on the back 9 Holes. The total of the latter from the Medal total should give a standard par of 18 but this seemed to be of no consequence to you with most Teams getting under that target.  Congratulations everyone mentioned below and commiserations to Team 8 who just lost out with the highest collective handicap: -

Winners : Team 2 : 7 points
Russell Fisher, James Pearson, Jane Hutchinson and Bob Lancaster

Runners-Up : Team 9 : 8 points (combined handicap 96)
Colin Walters, Ian Jones, Paul Best and Mary Lynam
3rd Place : Team 13 : 8 points (combined handicap 98 points)
Kevin Scott, Harry Rice, Ruud Woudstra and Sue Horsfield.

Other Team scores were: Team 8 = 8pts, Team 10 = 10pts, Team 12 = 11pts, Team 1 = 13pts, Teams 3 & 5 = 15pts, Team 11 = 117pts, Team 7 = 18pts, Team6 = 21pts, Team 4 = 24pts.
With excellent tee shots Sue Horsfield, Hole 3; Rob Henshaw, Hole 6; Klaus Hummel, Hole 13 and Colin Walters, Hole 17 were your Nearest the Pins sharpshooters but no one could capitalise on those shots to pull off a Two.  The Charity Pot appreciates those misses though!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to play some outstanding golf courses in December,
La Finca, Thursday 04 Dec’25, Las Colinas, Thursday 11 Dec’25 and Alicante Golf, Saturday 27 Dec’25 where we have sufficient tee-times to accommodate everyone so please do register or let us know as we have some availability.
Thank you to all of today’s Organisers and Helpers, Harry Rice, Bob Lancaster, Iain Stewart, Brian Platt, Ron Weller, Mick Lynch and Lucy Hole.  And, especially you guys, debutants and regulars for your patience and hope it wasn’t too long a day.
Hasta luego
Graham🤓👍
