02 OCT 25 RESULT FROM - LA TORRE
Hola AMIGOS
40+ Stableford Points, Amigos 8 - La Torre Golf Course 0. You have done it again, whitewashed this golf course! And it still does take some skill to achieve these results.
So, how did you do or how did you miss out? Let’s see: -
Individual Category 1
Pure class from this Category of golfers with some outstanding returns where we can announce very honourable mentions indeed. Serge Petruzziello and Martin Trevillion, 37 Stableford points, Steve Perkins, 39 and Kersten Rammeloo could only watch in envy as his 40 points (handicap 11.5) did not make the podium for the cash rewards. Many congratulations and especially to the Top Two: -
Winner : Paul Taylor : 41 points
Runner-Up : Colin Walters : 40 points (Handicap 8.1)
Individual Category 2
Another polished all round performance from Golfers in this Category and certainly something to shout about. Honourable mentioned are Peggy Gijsels, Henry Backus, Gordon Hutchinson and Graham Swift, 35 points; Chris Dunne, 36 points and Captain Europe, Gail Duffield, had 38 points! Well done guys and especially to the Winner and Runner-Up who could only be separated by handicap values: -
Winner : Harry Rice : 41 points (Handicap 21.3)
Runner-Up : ‘H’ Clarke : 41 points (Handicap 23.5)
Individual Category 3
Keeping with the momentum of the other two Divisions another set of very good results were returned and can honourably mention Liz Murty and Gary Conway, 35 points and what a shame to miss out on prizes Adam Sperrink, 40 points with such an impressive score which would have won on another competition so easily. But it was Ladies Day at La Torre with the very best results of the day returned in the Category and deserving the plaudits: -
Winner : Ros Hastings : 43 points
Runner-Up : Caroline PickerIng : 42 points
And those are the 8 Golfers joining the Amigos Forties Club
Team Competition
The format of returning the two lowest Stableford scores on the 6 x Par 3’s tempered run away scoring and results show many losing out because of this little twist! Expecting 72 to be met as Standard Par the winning combinations were only slightly above the benchmark. Nevertheless many congratulations to the top two Teams: -
Winners : Team 9 : 77 points
Ron Weller, Serge Petruzziello, ‘H’ Clarke and Bob Lancaster
Runners-Up : Team 5 : 76 points (After multiple countback variations)
Steve Perkins, Colin Hynd, Chris Dunne and An Van Den Borre.
Other Team scores were: Teams 2 & 3 = 76pts, Team 8 = 75pts, Team 13 = 74pts, Team 12 = 73pts, Teams 6 & 14 = 71pts, Teams 4, 7, 10 = 65pts, Team 1 = 64pts, Team 11 = 62pts.
On target with their Teebox shots, Kersten Rammeloo, Hole 3; Aiden McCrory, Hole 5; Peggy Gijsels, Hole 9; Ron Weller, Hole 11 and Graham Hallifax, Hole 15 came closest to the Pins, but come on 56 Players missing the green completely on the short Par 3 Hole 17! 😂
Peggy and Graham duly holed out for their two’s and Martin Trevillion slipped one on too!
Congratulations everyone.
It was so good to see so many returnees, regulars, irregulars and newbies socialising on the sunny Lakeside Bar Terrace whist waiting patiently waiting for the results. Thank you.
