24 APR '25 RESULT FROM  -  MAR MENOR

Hola AMIGOS
What a great day we had at Mar Menor and the Shamrock today!  Thank you so much all you Amigos and especially the debutants.  When you play on a great course, with great weather, great conditions and great company it does make you feel better about your game and that was reflected in the scoring.  Some great golf was played, in fact, some exceptional golf and four Amigos gain entry into the Amigos Forties Club!  Let’s see how you all did:-
Individual Category 1
Scores were well above standard which is to be expected from this category of golfer and honourable mentions can be handed out to Don McLeod, 35 Stableford points and even Ron Weller, 37 points and Andy Wasik, 38 points could not get onto the prize rostron. Congratulations everyone and especially to the one/two.

Winner : Damion Cox : 40 points
Runner-Up : Reg Hole : 39 points
Individual Category 2
These returns were not too shabby either demonstrating an affinity with the course. There were so many Amigos on 34 points but let’s start with the honourable mentions on 35 points, well played Liz McReynolds and also Steve Nicholls and Susan Tonnisen on 36 points and so sorry Harry Rice, even with 41 points and another entry into the Forties Club you didn’t make the podium places!  But the Winner and Runner-Up seemed to have played their golf on another planet recording mind blowing scores. Congratulations:-

Winner : Paul Best : 45 points (yes 45 points!)
Runner-Up : Wayne Goodwin : 43 points
Team Competition
Four Teams, equally matched with 14 Players in each, vied for the top accolade and made up from all Player 1s, 2s, 3s or 4s and were totally Blind. Players 4, scored a combined 419 points, Players 1, 435 points, Players 2, 448 points and the winning Team:-

Winners : All Players 3 : 457 points
Aiden McCrory, Karen McLeod, Poul Hansen, Chris Dunne, Lynne Hynd, Gary Conway, Don McLeod, Dave Cheney, Reg Hole, Carol Henshall-Brown, Stuart Roden, Gordon Hutchinson, Dave Hughes and Andy Wasik.

Best 4-Balls
Another very competitive competition with 144 points being the target to aim for with four players. Your achievements were respectable and the top two commendable and the winning four ran away with it even exceeding par in the process!  That’s great golf! Congratulations to all:-

Winners : Team 14 : 147 points
Alan Kilminster, Harry Rice, Andy Wasik and Steve Nicholls
Runners-Up : Team 4 : 139 points

Damon Cox, Dot Jones, Chris Dunne and Susan Tonnisen.

Other 4-Ball scores were: Team 3 = 135pts, Team 1 = 131pts, Team 9 = 130pts, Team 13 = 129pts, Teams 5 & 10 = 127pts, Teams 7 & 12 = 125pts, Team 6 = 115pts, Team 11 = 107pts, Team 8 = 104pts, Team 2 = 102pts.
